🍢 Millet Flakes Tikka
Crispy & Healthy Millet Snack
Ingredients
- Millet Flakes (any): 1 cup (50 g approx)
- Oil: 4 tsp
- Fennel Seeds: 1 tsp
- Green Chilli: 1 (finely chopped)
- Onion: 1 (finely chopped)
- Ginger Garlic Paste: 1 tsp
- Carrot: 1 (grated)
- Garam Masala: ½ tsp
- Chilli Powder: ½ tsp
- Coriander Leaves: As required
- Salt: As required (use less)
Water Ratio for Flakes
- Thinai, Samai, Varagu, Kuthiraivalli → 1 cup flakes : ¾ cup water
- Red Cholam & Traditional Rice Flakes → 1 cup flakes : 1¼ cup water
Preparation Method
- Add 1 cup of hot water to 1 cup of flakes and soak for 3 minutes.
- Drain excess water and mash well.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and sauté fennel seeds.
- Add onion, green chilli, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, garam masala, salt, and coriander leaves. Sauté well.
- Add grated carrot and cook for a minute.
- Add mashed millet flakes and mix thoroughly.
- Shape into tikkas as desired.
- Shallow fry on both sides until golden brown.
