Ingredients

  • Millet (any): 1 cup (100 g approx)
  • Oil: 2 tsp
  • Whole Spices: Bay leaf, cinnamon, clove, cardamom (1 each)
  • Onion: 1 (sliced)
  • Green Chilli: 4
  • Ginger Garlic Paste: ½ tsp
  • Tomato: 1
  • Mixed Vegetables: Carrot, potato, peas, beans, capsicum
  • Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves: For garnish

Preparation Method

Millet : Water Ratio – 1 : 2½

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté bay leaf, cinnamon, clove, and cardamom.
  2. Add sliced onions, green chilli, and ginger garlic paste. Sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add tomato and cook until soft, then add mixed vegetables and salt. Cook until half done.
  4. Add soaked millet (soaked for 30 minutes) and sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Add 2½ cups of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
