Ingredients

  • Millet (any): 1 cup (200 g approx)
  • Moong Dal: ½ cup
  • Oil/Ghee: 2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds: 2 tsp
  • Pepper: 1 tsp
  • Ginger (grated): 2 tsp
  • Asafoetida: ½ tsp
  • Green Chilli & Curry Leaves: 4 chillies + few leaves
  • Cashew: 10

Preparation Method

  1. Soak millets and moong dal for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pressure cooker, heat oil or ghee. Sauté cashews, cumin seeds, pepper, ginger, asafoetida, green chilli, and curry leaves.
  3. Add soaked millet and moong dal to the cooker.
  4. Add 6 cups of water and salt as required. Pressure cook for 4 whistles.
